The River Garden

Completed over three years ago, inspired by the unique roof design of the Stewart House itself, the Outdoor River Garden has become, simply, the most spectacular Hudson River cafe to share a drink, or have a meal.

Just follow the path made of antique brick that leads to the Pavilion. Sit inside. Take a look at the mahogany bar, the tinned ceiling or the inspired woodwork. Perhaps you'll see a sailboat glide by, or hear the willow trees rustle,  to keep all the secrets of the evening...

Perhaps too, you will be reminded of what Oberon said to Puck in Midsummer Night's Dream.

"Thou rememberst,
Since once I sat upon a promontory,
And heard a mermaid on a dolphin's back,
Uttering such dulcet and harmonious breath,
That the rude sea grew civil at her song,
And Certain stars shot madly from their spheres
To hear the sea-maids music.
